Nebraska AEYC’s public policy agenda is to provide leadership and support as we work towards a system of high quality early childhood education for all children birth to age eight in Nebraska. We advocate for a system that provides resources and supports for children, families and the early childhood workforce in all settings (centers, family child care homes and public schools).
Recognizing that significant work has been undertaken by policy makers, the business and philanthropic communities, advocacy organizations, State of Nebraska early childhood leaders, and other nonprofits to address the issues of early childhood education in Nebraska, our issue-driven advocacy identifies key issues that affect the field in Nebraska and makes information available to our membership and the broader community. In addition, we strive to identify ways individuals can act independently as advocates for children and families.
Nebraska AEYC’s work supports the positions of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) which reflect current research and evidence from the field.
