Leadership Academy!
The purpose of the Leadership Academy is to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of early childhood education program administrators (child care center directors or family child care home providers) with the expectation that they become more confident and competent leaders in their programs and the overall early childhood community.
These confident and competent program administrators will be better equipped to lead their programs through program quality improvements, work to establish sustainable change in their programs, provide leadership to the field of early childhood education and provide opportunities within their communities to support the needs of children, families and other early childhood educators.
The Leadership Academy is arranged in monthly two hour sessions. Each session builds upon the previous session by reviewing content, presenting new information, practicing new skills, allowing the participants the time they need to reflect and report back at the beginning of the next session. As sessions progress, participants delve into concepts of leadership development that most have never explored. Intentional focus placed on how participants can create a Leadership Plan that allows them to use this new knowledge, skills and abilities to work toward improved child care programs for children, families and their communities.
The Leadership Academy is a wonderful opportunity to identify potential leaders in our field, build upon their strengths, present new research and resources and cultivate new leaders for early childhood in our state.
